racing history. During the 1979-1980 SCCA C-Production race season, Fidanza’s “Ole” no. 19, with its state-of-the-art modifications, beat the defending champion Nissan factory team and actor/driver Paul Newman by an amazing seven seconds at the Road Atlanta National Championship. His very impressive car also set records at tracks like Mid-Ohio and Nelson Ledges that still stand today. The Ole's streak of 11 national wins in a row is a mark that very few cars have ever reached and was just the beginning of countless cars that were built by the Fidanza team. From the United States to Japan and Europe to Australia, the name Fidanza can be found on many of the world's finest racecars. Fidanza’s historic SCCA victory and continuing track success was achieved by the Fidanza race team’s philosophy of doing everything better than the competition. Team Fidanza applied that philosophy, along with technical knowledge gathered from many winning race seasons, in answering an increasing demand from other racers for access to Fidanza-like parts – thus Fidanza Engineering Corporation was born. With ground-breaking new designs, the latest manufacturing technologies and the most advanced materials, Fidanza consistently leads the way in producing high quality aluminum flywheels and cam gears. |
Adjustable Cam Gears
Fidanza Adjustable Cam Gears are made from the highest quality 6061 T6 aluminum. They are CNC machined to more exacting tolerances than original gears. The tooth edges are beveled to increase belt life. With twelve degress (both advance and retard) of laser etched adjustments you can be assured of proper tuning. The inner ring is designed for strength, function and precision. Stainless steel studs are threaded through the backside of the outer gear. The inner gear is then fastened with stainless steel nuts and lockwashers. This enables an increase in the amount of torque used to tighten the fasteners, with no risk of stretching to the aluminum threads. All chain drive gears have a 1050 steel outer sprocket. |
